This quarter will involve more development with the number system using rates, ratios, and proportional reasoning. Students will convert measurements within both systems of measurement. Students will find a percent of a quantity and will reverse to find the whole when given a part and the percent represented by this part. Students will use tables, tape diagrams and number lines to examine ratio, rates and percents. Students will write and evaluate numeric and algebraic expressions. They will identify parts of an expression and interpret these parts within the context of different real-world problems. Students will continue using concepts from quarter 1 within the new units.
