(1) Create foldable notes for the "Standard Algorithm for Division." See example below.
1st and 2nd Period:
(2) Complete "Magic Square 16" problems 116. For each problem, show how to use the standard algorithm for division. Do this on a folded paper with 8 boxes on each side showing one problem per box. See example below. Turn in organized work at the end of class.
(3) Extension (optional)  Complete the Magic Square by filling in the 4 x 4 grid where each row, column and diagonal has the same sum.

Bell Work  Start on "Activity 14"  dividing with 2digit divisors and 4 to 5digit dividends. Please number each problem as shown in the attachment. Create a 2 x 4 grid out of a sheet of notebook paper to show your organized work for each problem. Please see template below.

1st and 2nd Period
During Bell Work, graded work for "Magic Squares" was returned. Students corrected problems missed and resubmitted their work. 
3rd and 4th Period
Organized work for "Magic Squares" was checked during Bell Work. Solutions and work were modeled for students to selfassess their progress. 
Classwork
1st and 2nd Period (1) Strategies for completing "Divisor and Quotient Choices" were shared, examined, and/or implemented. Most solutions were revealed. (2) Work in groups to complete "Activity 14"  dividing with 2digit divisors. Each student must show organized work for all problems.

(2) "Decimal Trails" was introduced to all students. Students had to use addition and subtraction to navigate through a grid of decimals finding the right path.
(3) The "Addition and Subtraction with Decimals" assessment from Wednesday, August 20th, was returned. Students who scored below 80% received teacherguided review of those questions. Then, they worked in groups to complete side A of "Applying Decimals using Addition and Subtraction." Solutions were provided for students to self check. Students who scored above 80% worked in groups to complete "Decimal Trails."
