**No Bell Work. Instead, students took a pretest for Unit 4.**

After bell work, students corrected questions they missed from the Unit 2 Test involving ratios, rates, proportions and rationals. The following pages in the textbook can be used to review these concepts along with your notes. Students can come to tutoring this week to finish making corrections. Students who score below 85% after corrections must complete Frayer Models for any of the 9 concepts that apply before coming to tutoring next Tuesday, December 10th, to review the test questions they missed. They will be allowed to retest in their specific areas during tutoring on Wednesday, December 11th.

## Homework - Extra Credit Work (if you do not have any missing work or work that needs to be redone): (1) __Rational Pictures__, (2) __Puzzle: Calc-Words__, (3) __Nimble with Numbers__, (4) __Operations with Fractions__

## Tuesday, December 3, 2013 - Properties of Numbers and Equivalent Expressions

**Bell Work - Complete #1-5 posted below. You will find that the expressions on the left are equivalent to the expressions on the right. We will look at properties of numbers to further understand how these expressions are equal to one another.**

Students completed the following graphic organizers:

__Distributive Property__and__Properties of Numbers__.**Homework tonight is to complete #1-12 of Equivalent Expressions**which can be found on the back of the Properties of Numbers Organizer. 2013.12.03_distributive_property_organizer_souvenir_handcuffs.pdf | |

## Thursday, December 5, 2013 - Equivalent Expressions

No Bell Work. Students worked on either Snowman or Spanish Farmer, whichever they had not completed for homework. See Thursday, December 4th, for documents. The Snowman assignment involved combining like terms whereas Spanish Farmer included using the distributive property before combining like terms. We also reviewed "More Equivalent Expressions." No homework tonight! Enjoy the Christmas parade in Monroe!

## Friday, December 6, 2013 - Equivalent Expressions and Properties of Numbers

No Bell Work. To prepare for a quiz, students reviewed their notes over equivalent expressions and number properties - distributive, commutative, associative and identity. After the quiz, we began examining how to solve one-step addition and subtraction equations using the following PowerPoint. Students took notes and practiced problems. To be continued on Monday.... Happy Friday! Have a wonderful weekend!
