After Bell Work 4th, 5th, and 6th - Students completed/checked "Measuring with Metrics" reviewing how to use the step/ladder method to covert measurements. Students were given solutions for Activity 15 in order to focus on the process of solving each problem. #1-5 were modeled to show them the work that is expected. For customary conversions, use proportions to set up the problem then solve. For metric conversions, use proportions or the step/ladder method. Work will be checked in class on Thursday, October 31st.

**Bell Work - #21-25**

3rd Period - Turned in Set D with work at the start of class. After Bell Work, students began "Rational Pictures." An example of this task is posted below. Students had no homework (besides continue to work on Measurement Project that's due Monday, November 4th. We will finish "Rational Pictures" in class tomorrow. Follow directions written on the assignment you received in class as these directions do not appear on the examples below.

4th Period - Set D of "Equivalent Rationals" was completed. Students were given another 25 minutes to finish Set D, and should have finished renaming a total of 15 rationals. If they did not, they could complete this assignment for homework. It will be due at the start of class on Friday. Don't forget about the Measurement Project (due Monday, November 4th).

5th Period and 6th Period - Sets B and C of "Equivalent Rationals" was completed. Set D was started and will be completed in class tomorrow. No homework besides Measurement Project (due on Monday, November 4th).

## Friday, November 1, 2013 - Equivalent Rationals

No Bell Work because we had a Measurement Conversions Quiz - 5 questions involving the metric and customary system of measurement. Students were allowed to use their notes and were reminded to use their Measurement Facts sheet, "It's Customary," "Metric Mania," "Activity 15," etc. Due to absences, I will wait to post the quiz.

After the quiz, we reviewed questions from Activity 15 to help iron out any details for the project that is due Monday. The key for Activity 15 is posted below.
